WHAT we do

Our clients are primarily architectural design firms, but also include other engineers and design professionals, contractors, and building owners.

Engineers and technical staff at Structural Design Group are involved in the selection of appropriate structural systems, analysis, design implementation, modeling, and production of construction documents, as well as construction phase services of building type projects. Each project is assigned a Lead Structural Engineer to work closely with the Architect, the Owner, additional members of the design team, as well as contractors and construction managers to see a project thru to completion and owner occupancy.

Typical Design Services

• Investigation of existing buildings and structures for modification or adaptive reuse
• Design and layout of framing systems including member analysis and design in reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood and timber and/or precast concrete
• Design and layout of deep and/or shallow foundations and retaining wall structures
• Modeling of the structure and its elements in Revit or AutoCAD
• Preparation of drawings and documents suitable for cost estimating, bidding and/or construction
• Construction phase services including site observation and the review of submittals and inspection reports

In short—we work out the structural details of how a building should be built to withstand the forces it is expected to see over its useful life, how those details bring the architectural features to the forefront and how the components of those details interface with other disciplines and trades.
